HIGHLAND >> An Indian Springs High School teacher was arrested
Sunday for allegedly having sex with two minors, one of them a
former student.
Amy Corinne Bramlett, 46, was arrested on the 3400 block of
Parkside Drive in San Bernardino on suspicion of having unlawful
sex with a minor.
On Thursday detectives assigned to the San Bernardino County
Sheriffs Highland station contacted the detectives in the
Specialized Investigation Division/Crimes Against Children
Detail about an investigation into an inappropriate relationship
between a 17-year-old male and Bramlett.
Sheriffs department detectives believe Bramlett had unlawful
sex with the minor, a former student of hers, between January
and June of this year, at her home on 7200 block of Sunrise
Court.
On Friday, detectives found a second alleged victim during the
course of their investigation, a student of hers who would have
been 16 at the time of the alleged crime.
The alleged unlawful sex with both minors occurred in Highland,
according to the sheriffs department.
Bramlett is a Program Specialist at Indian Springs High.
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs requested the assistance of
the district police department regarding an investigation into
allegations that an Indian Springs High School teacher engaged
in inappropriate behavior with a current student and a former
student, district spokeswoman Maria Garcia wrote in an email
Monday morning. Indian Springs High School administrators
learned of the allegations on Friday, Sept. 12 when they were
informed of an impending arrest.
The teacher -- whom the district is not identifying, citing the
integrity of the investigation and the teachers due process
rights -- was placed on administrative leave on Friday.
Parents are being notified through a letter being sent home
with students today, on Sept. 15, Garcia wrote.
Bramlett was booked into the Central Detention Center on $1
million bail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
If convicted of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a person
under 18, but not under 16, she could face a maximum penalty of
a year in jail or state prison for each conviction.
Sheriffs department detectives have released her booking photo,
in an attempt to discover additional alleged victims. Anyone
with information regarding this case is asked to call Det. Lisa
Guerra at (909) 387-3615. Those wishing to remain anonymous may
call the We-Tip Hotline at (800) 782-7463 or visit WeTip.com.
